https://soundknowledge.org is the website for the book Sound Knowledge by Peter R Monnery. The data controller responsible for your personal data is Peter R Monnery. The website is built and maintained by Burch Studio, which acts as a data processor on his behalf. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at info@soundknowledge.org.
What we collect
We only collect the personal data you choose to give us. If you register your interest for the book launch, we collect your email address. If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, your message, and whether you opted in to updates. For security and spam prevention we also record the IP address and browser information of contact form submissions.
Our lawful basis
We process this data on the basis of your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given when you submit your email or a message. You can withdraw that consent at any time, as described below.
How we use your data
We use your registration email solely to notify you once, when pre-orders or the book become available. We use contact form details only to read and respond to your message. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we never sell it.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted. We keep interest registrations until the launch notification programme ends or until you ask us to remove your email, whichever comes first.
Who processes your data
Your data is stored using Supabase (database and hosting) and the website is served by Vercel. Notification and contact emails are sent using Resend. These providers act as our processors and may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it erased, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To withdraw consent, request deletion, or exercise any other right, email us and we will action it promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
